Challenge: In 2010, Starwood's Westin brand had recently negotiated a deal to become the official hotel and resort of the US Open and hired Leverage to help handle activation and strategic integrations.

Solution: Leverage developed and executed a patch program (opponent marketing, cost effective and high visibility) with Roberta Vinci and Brian Dabul for their first round matches against Venus Williams and Roger Federer respectively. Leverage also provided a turn-key solution for Starwood by creating and distributing seven-hundred (700) gift bags along with securing five (5) tennis personalities for meet and greets with Starwood Preferred Guests in their VIP Suite.

Results: Starwood successfully entertained their Starwood Preferred Guests, and allowed their members to redeem membership points for this new and unique experience. This added further excitement to the Starwood Membership Points Program.
